Male fur seal intimidation, Montague island, Australia
This large male fur seal didn’t like us diving too close from the group of females sunbathing above, and swam fast quite close to me on two occasions. The bubbles he belw at me are a sign of aggressivity, meant to intimidate. On the first approach i was petrified and unable to take a photo. Fortunately there was a second approach, for which i got ready to take this photograph. This encounter happened in Montague Island (New South Wales, Australia), a place reknowned for its fur seals colony.
