In 1984, grey nurse sharks was the first shark species to be categlorized as "critically endangered" on the IUCN red list, and became protected. Whilst it is difficult to keep track of grey nurse sharks numbers along the East Coast of Australia, it is believed the population has been slowly recovering since then.
Nature can bounce back if we give it a chance.
This photo was taken at Fish Rock (NSW, Australia), one of the few places on the East Coast where grey nurse sharks can be seen in their numbers.
